Rebuilding Trust.
Delivering Justice.

Election Day: November 3RD

Acadia, Lafayette & Vermilion Parishes.

Cleaning up our streets starts with restoring trust and bringing accountability back to the DA’s office. As the next District Attorney, I will never lose sight of that mission."

- Kristian Earles

Kristian Earles is running for District Attorney of the 15th Judicial District Court.

A native of Acadiana, Earles was born in Lafayette and raised in Roberts Cove. His parents are Richard Dennis Earles and the late Carolyn Earles of Crowley. Earles and his wife of 35 years, Rene Istre Earles, have four children, two sons-in-law, two grandchildren, and are expecting another grandchild in 2026.

Earles enters the race at a crucial time, and he has clear priorities for restoring and improving the current office of District Attorney. Earles aims to restore integrity and public trust in the District Attorney’s office by prosecuting criminals efficiently and fairly, protecting the community through strong ethical leadership and enforcing the law in a fair and expeditious system. If elected, Earles plans to run the District Attorney’s Office with the highest ethical standards.

Broad experience across the criminal justice system is what Judge Earles has gained throughout his career, before taking the bench in 2003. He began his career in law enforcement as a university policeman, while attending USL (University of Louisiana at Lafayette). Later, Earles joined the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office. There, Earles served as a patrol deputy, communications officer and detention center shift sergeant, while studying at USL. Earles represented families and individuals across the region of Louisiana, working as an attorney in his private law practice. This well-rounded background, from patrol deputy to Defense Attorney, then to long time serving District Judge, positions him to deliver knowledgeable wisdom and rationality to the office of District Attorney.

Judge Earles graduated from USL with honors in 1992, obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating college, he entered Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, where he graduated with honors in 1995, and obtained his Juris Doctorate Law Degree. In addition, he continued his education teaching Louisiana State Judges about courtroom safety. He also taught Criminal Law as an Adjunct Professor at UL Lafayette, while serving on the bench.

Public service records extend beyond Judge Earles’ courtroom. He has served as past president of the Crowley Lions Club, represented the residents of Crowley as an Alderman, and served as a Reserve Deputy for Acadia Parish. Kristian and his wife, Rene, are parishioners of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, where he is currently serving on the Board of Directors.
